Lavender Literacy Scholarship

Phi Nu Kappa Sorority, Inc. is honored to offer the Lavender Literacy Scholarship, an annual scholarship established to support graduating high school seniors and GED graduates as they pursue higher education. Each year, one deserving student will be awarded $500 to assist with educational expenses as they prepare to begin their college journey.

The Lavender Literacy Scholarship reflects our commitment to educational advancement, academic excellence, and meaningful investment in the future of our communities. Through this scholarship, we are proud to recognize students who have demonstrated dedication to their academic goals and a commitment to continuing their education at the collegiate level.

Eligibility and Application Requirements


To be considered for the Lavender Literacy Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a graduating high school senior or GED graduate during the same year the scholarship is awarded

  • Provide a college or university acceptance letter, or other proof of intended enrollment

  • Submit an essay of at least 250 words explaining how higher education will help you achieve your personal and professional goals

  • Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Upload a copy of your high school transcript, or a copy of your GED diploma


 

Review and Selection Process

All completed applications will be presented to the National Executive Board for review and consideration. The scholarship recipient will be selected through a formal board vote.

 

 

Award Disbursement

The $500 scholarship award will be paid directly to the recipient’s college or university.
 

Application Deadline

All application materials must be submitted by May 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST.
